In sporting events, a mascot is a person, animal or thing thought to bring good luck to a team. The Vancouver 2010 Winter Games will feature three official mascots, Miga, Quatchi and Sumi, plus their sidekick Mukmuk.
Miga is a young sea bear. Sea bears are part bear and part killer whale.
Quatchi is a young sasquatch who lives in the Canadian forests.
Sumi is an animal spirit. He wears the hat of a killer whale, flies with the wings of a thunderbird and runs on the legs of a black bear.
